First-Time homebuyer presentation

Larry Roberts, Shevy Akason, and Milaad Forootan are hosting a first-time homebuyer's presentation at 6:30 Wednesday evening on August 24, 2011, at the offices of Intercap Lending (9401 Jeronimo, Suite 200, Irvine, CA 92618).

We developed this presentation assuming those who attend know nothing about the home buying process. We will go through step-by-step showing you what happens at each point along the journey. We will stay after the presentation to answer any and all questions one-on-one to make sure you are comfortable with what you will encounter as you start looking for your OC home.

We look forward to seeing you at the offices of Intercap Lending, 9401 Jeronimo, Suite 200, Irvine, CA 92618 on Wednesday evening on August 24, 2011, at 6:30.

We will start doing these once a month, so you will get another chance. We will record the first few to work on our own presentation skills, but once we have one we are happy with, we will post it on the IHB.

    IR,

Are you sure you want to get in bed with Intercap lending? Research the owner’s backgrounds before you put your rep on the line.

My dealings have been with Jamil Atcha. I don’t know his business partners. I didn’t turn up anything on him that gave me pause. He is a good tennis player as Google will attest to. My impression of him is honorable.

Is there something specific I should know about them or how they operate?

I’ve never worked for/with them, but I know a few people who did back in the boom. From the stories, I would call them the “typical” mortgage broker who used all the “worst practices” that Dodd-Frank is attempting to prevent. I don’t know Mr. Atcha and don’t want to indict the company without first hand knowledge.

My .02 cents would be for you to find a small local bank/credit union that’s established (I think intercap has only been in business a year)and build a long term relationship.

Hope it works out and if you have a chance, update us on your LV work.

I just attended this, though I’m already familiar with the home buying process.

It was great, and I highly encourage anyone who was reluctant to go this time for whatever reason, to attend the next one.
