IRWD CALscape Workshops Available Soon

As I wrote previously, California has had quite a few years of below average rainfall. And our current forecast for increased precipitation is not good. In fact, Governor Brown recently made it official: California is in a drought.

IRWD is offering some classes that can help us all reduce our outdoor water use. The key to this program, CALscape, is to use the right plants, water schedule, and equipment for our location.

Here are the details:

What: California Appropriate Landscape (CALscape)

Date: You have three dates to choose from: January 29, March 7, or March 21

Time: 6 pm

Where: IRWD headquarters office, 15600 Sand Canyon Avenue, Irvine in the multi-purpose room

RSVP: Send an email to calscape@irwd.com. Include your name, the number of attendees and which date you would like to attend.

Contact: Shannon Reed, Public Affairs Manager
reeds@irwd.com, (949) 453-5500

I’ll end with some words to ponder: “We continue to run California as if the longest drought we are ever going to encounter is about seven years. We're living in a dream world.“–Scott Stine, professor of geography and environmental studies at Cal State East Bay
