I see what happened… The flipper over-upgraded it.  It’s still $200k or more over similar props in the area.

Ahhh - the port streets.  One of the few neighborhoods in Newport Beach to still have a real "community" feeling to it.  I would think it would be a highly desirable area for families with young kids who want to live in Newport but still have sidewalks, and schools you can walk the kids to and neighborhood swimming teams.
For a while there many of the original homes (which these are) were being bought and then torn down with custom rebuilds on the lots.  Don’t know if that’s still the case but these prices don’t seem that inflated considering the neighborhood.
Of course in this market the buyers decide what’s inflated.  I’m very curious to see what happens with the prices in some of the specialty Newport Beach areas like the Port Streets and Corona Del Mar.

Sometimes when I see Southern California real estate, I think they misplaced a decimal point.

Effen…
That is some kind of mistake. Aliso Viejo came into being in the late 80’s. And AV certainly does have Mello-Roos. I’d bet it’s in Laguna Hills. The Realtor (TM) thought Aliso Viejo would look better?

Living in a Lighthouse
The Morgan Point Lighthouse has stood on Connecticut’s Fishers Island Sound since 1868. An advertisement in a 1995 Wall Street Journal led its current owner to the empty, neglected structure. Nearly $1 million was spent on its reconstruction, which included a new lantern and various nautical details designed by the architect—a former Coast Guard engineering officer.

Here is a 1$ house.  Yes 1$ will buy this house.  It is not a joke.  It is actually free but it looks like they needed a price to list it on redfin.

1) Zovall or somebody else: can you fix the HTML in Troop’s post, please?
2) Ouch again.  At least these old 50’s houses are starting to be priced appropriately.
