Thanks, SoCal! I love holiday events.  The holiday boutique at the Orange County fairgrounds is also great.  Last year, I bought some great dips, chutney, scone mixes, and gourmet balsamic vinegars (my favorite is the vanilla walnut fig flavor and it’s always a hit when I serve it over baked brie).  It’s a fundraiser for the Junior League of Orange County and this year it will be 11/13-11/15.  http://ns.ocfair.com/ocf/Calendar/ViewEvent.asp?EventId=1316

I went to The Women’s Conference last week and picked up some more of the Gourmet Blends balsamic vinegar that I mentioned above.  This time, I was able to buy smaller bottles which will make great Xmas gifts.  I bought the raspberry and vanilla fig balsamic vinegars and the sundried tomato dipping oil.  They’re yummy and I’m excited to serve them at upcoming holiday get togethers.  The company reps confirmed that they will be at The Christmas Company event at the Orange County fairgrounds again this year.  However, they probably will not be selling their smaller bottles at that event.  The company now has a website: http://gourmetblends.us/

I’m on it.  But do they have tastings?  I don’t buy balsalmic without a tasting anymore.

Yes.  If you’re planning to attend The Christmas Company event, they usually have each of their dipping oils and vinegars available for tastings on french bread.  Let me know what you think!

Looks like Graph and I are taking GraphMom to the Sugar Plum Festival this weekend.  She can look at arts and crafts and I can get some tasty oils and vinegars.

I’ve never heard of that Festival before.  It looks great and it’s free to get in.  I may have to swing by this weekend, too.

How was the Festival?  I was going to try to run over early this morning and was sad to see that yesterday was the final day.

It was interesting.  I picked up some Christmas gifts as well as some oils and vinegars and soups.  Graph made a bee-line for the tamale stand.  People make a lot of cute, sometimes even useful, home goods.
