We’ll do the reverse of what is listed in the Description so that we have a nice view of the ocean as we descend.  The description states this is a ‘Moderate’ hike and I imagine it will take 2-2.5 hours.

We’ll meet up at the Parking Lot at 6:15am and head out soon after.

Directions (from the Fashion Island area of Newport): Take PCH South.  A little after you pass the Crystal Cove shopping center, keep an eye out for signs to Crystal Cove State Park and a look out for a small school.  Make a left (I think the street is El Moro) as if you are going to the school and then follow the signs to the lot.  There is a $10 fee per car and you pay that at the visitor center.

Beautiful morning!  The hike went well.  There were three of us: me, ohnelly, and SYDNEY (long time lurker).

According to my Garmin, it was about 5 miles and took us a little under 2 hours.  After the hike ohnelly and I went to Einstein Bros and ran into ipo!

Yep, hike was nice, company was nice and weather was very nice!  The views were outstanding this morning and we couldn’t have asked for a better hiking day.  When we got there, it wasn’t so crowded but we definitely saw a lot more people on the way down who were getting started when we were wrapping up.  I needed two breaks on the steep/uphill part

Einsteins would make a nice place for a small IHB meet-up on a Sunday morning.
