we’re in the same boat as you, we have a baby coming next month and will be moving in about 1 year. Our price range is 1-1.7 mill. We’re considering Ladera Ranch,Nellie Gail, and Newport Coast. So far we’ve found you get the most house in Ladera….we like it but I can understand how it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

Does Huntington Beach work for you?

For $2 million, you can pick and choose any home from >90% of what’s on the OC MLS.

OK, it’s a bit over $2M, but this Aviemore Terrace home just came on today. That’s a really good sized lot and has wonderful views and everything is brand new.

Just my opinion but I wouldn’t spend 2 mill on a house in CM.

why not?

Do you mean that it is overpriced (which it is, but by no more than any other high end house), or that CM sucks?

The schools suck?

The neighbors also occupying 1M$+ houses suck?

The view of the ocean sucks?

Too many mexicans in the city sucks?

Not having to use AC sucks?

Being 4 blocks from the nearest TJs sucks?

The SA river two blocks below smells too much?

What doesn’t suck is the listing agent on that property.  I think she is pretty hot.
