Another major earthquake hit southwestern China today where 22 people died and 1000 homes destroyed. It appears that natural disasters are occurring more and more frequently in the past 8 years.

In an emergency, you could go to the grocery store and get some of those aluminum cup cake baking forms. Spread one out and it would be kind of a foil skull cap.

So why did you erase the glorious scripture you posted? I mean, if you’re going to post it in the first place you should stand by your convictions Panda…...geez.
And considering the book was written thousands of years ago, at some point some of it’s GOT to come true…...
Agreed No_Vas.
Finally hitting the ignore button.

Trooper,
I made the original post as a serious post not to make some type of joke out of it like Graph did. I am not a pastor, I am not a priest, and I am not some lunatic that predicts the future. I simply stated that i am noticing more and more natural disasters in this decade than any other decade. Sunday, after church, I simply noticed three scriptures from the bible in the book of Revelations that i thought were coincidental to the some of the world events that have occurred in the past ten years. Trooper, I am sorry if i offended you in any way, but that was not my intention.

Panda - Can I say it’s a bit incongruent to consider earthquakes on day when many expected a hurricane elsewhere that had the potential to reshape a coastline? In any event, earthquakes happen every day in Cali and in many other places on the Pacific Rim. You can see Cali’s here, and the rest of the world’s here. Earthquakes have been happening long before the Judeo-Christian church began (some think the flood stories that exist in multiple cultures relate to what is now England separating from Europe or from the opening of Mediterranean Sea). Since the earth was formed, there have been earthquakes and there will continue to be earthquakes as the plates slip and slide on the mantle.
Of course, all of this presupposes that you haven’t rejected the Enlightenment and don’t believe that the Earth was created only 6,000 years ago. If so, please disregard.

Panda,
I’m not sure if this will make you feel better or not. I went to church every Sunday (if not more) for 20 years. I noticed the same thing you did.
When I was in High School.
If I were you I wouldn’t worry about it too much. If you are truly a believer then you have nothing to worry about, right?
Chill out. Enjoy life. Dream of Irvine.

Panda, I wish you didn’t edit your posts. You may think I am joking all the time, but maybe if you posted the scripture you wanted then we could have a discussion about it. It could be a good thing for us both. Don’t take my joking so seriously, as I can have a level headed discussion about these things, but you may never know that unless you post what you believe.

Okay joke time…
Blah… Earthquakes didn’t start happening until Caesar was in power in Rome. It’s a fact that the Romans misbehavior was what created natural disasters. See Pompei and Vesuvius.

I suggest that regional elitism is inappropriate in this case. Being from a small town in “fly-over country” I can attest to the presence of some mind-boggling ignorance and stupidity in those parts, as well as some really bright folks. (Some of them are even Republicans!) But Trinity Broadcasting (Channel 40 in Irvine) is headquartered in Orange County. Jim Jones’ group (mass suicide in South America) originated in the San Francisco area, didn’t it? And the Heaven’s Gate cult down in San Diego? Those were the folks that committed suicide in 1997 so they could travel to a space ship, hiding behind a comet. I rest my case.
