So its a bit ahead of time for this but while I was thinking about it I figured Id ask.  We are having a baby any day now and will probably have family come out for about a month for the holidays.  Has anyone here ever themselves or know anyone who has rented a furnished place near the beach for a month or more?  What kind of rates would I expect for a 3 bedroom around then?  I searched craigslist quickly but everything is summer rental now.

Thanks!

We had our baby 22 years ago and lived in a winter rental in Newport Beach.  It was a great start and a beautiful place to be for the winter.

Essentially back then the cost of the winter rental for a MONTH was about the same price as the cost of the summer rental per WEEK.

We lived on the balboa peninsula and went to a real estate agent that someone recommended to us during the summer before.  they provided a long list of rental places to look at.  We biked around.  We found one that was perfect and right on the sand.

Thanks for the congrats…

I looked on the web and pulled up a website of weekly/monthly listings by owner.  People were asking about 5K a month in newport and between 3K-5K in Irvine.  I bet some of them will be negotiable if I either book in advance or closer to the time.  A realtor might also be a good place to look as well, Im sure there is no shortage of desperate ones!

sre, congrats on the little one !

Here is a website I found…not sure how legit it is, but it might help.

Sublet.com

Click the box that says “Modify Search Result” and check the short term lease box.  Lots of them popped up for the surrounding area….

I have a 1 bdrm condo across from the beach in HB I rent out as vacation home.  I list thru www.vrbo.com (vacation rental by owner).  They have a ton of listings for HB, Newport, etc.
