cantaloop - 24 May 2008 10:57 PM While driving home tonight I told my wife that graphrix, zovall, cacyifish, and IR visited the store. She then said, “Why didn’t you get me from the back?“ (My wife is always in the back of the store cutting fruit.) She continued to talk about how all you are like celebrities and she wanted to meet you face to face. I promised her that next time we meet, I’ll introduce her to everyone.
Speaking of - if IHB ever wants to do a meet-up, I’m more than willing to offer up our location. And, of course, I’d figure out a big discount (something like 30-40% or something to cover our cost). I wouldn’t profit from the event should anyone decide to buy yogurt. I know we’re all saving for that house in late 2008 - mid 2009 when prices drop another 25%.
Ok, first off that’s so funny that your wife wanted to meet us. Secondly, woo hoo for a meetup at Cantaloop! I’m looking for an excuse to try pina colada yogurt with Fruit Loops. I think graph wanted to go for peanut butter and Cocoa Puffs.

i met you as well, cantaloop, but didnt identify myself. it was a great time and the place was crowded! comfortable store with lots of versatile space. a meet there is a nice idea.
just curious, what’s going on with the rest of that strip center? looks like a lot of construction going on there and in the lot behind you as well.

The strip across from us will be all restaurants including Chipotle, Buffalo Wild Wings, L&L;Hawaiian, Shabu Shabu, and more. The 2nd floor of that strip will be all medical offices. We’re part of the new project, but happened to open earlier since we went into the existing building facing 17th St.
Let me know if you want to do a meetup. That would be awesome! BTW - our bananas were ripe so I swirled Banana-Strawberry today. Yummy! (took out Pina Colada though)

I had a nice loop yesterday, very, very tasty. I chose the original tart since that is what I usually order from yogurt places, but I should have tried that banana strawberry swirl… Oh well, it was yummy nonetheless.

Graph and I stopped in last Saturday to try some new combos. I had a regular tart with Fruit Loops. It was kinda strange, but mainly because the cold bothered my teeth while I crunched on the cereal. Regular tart reminds me of cheesecake or cream cheese, so next time I’ll try it with strawberries or blueberries instead. Graph had the pom blueberry with blueberries and liked it very much. We hung out for a bit and read magazines (there is a wide variety available on tables) and talked to cantaloop (the owner) when he didn’t have other customers. It’s not a bad place to just chill for a while.

My wife is a big fan of the tart frozen yogurt. We’ll have to stop by when we are in the neighborhood.

Price wise I think Cantaloop has the competition beat. The double seems quite large and at $4.95 w/ 3 toppings seems almost the same as Pinkberry’s large at 6.95 and Red Mango’s $7.

If you decide to get a double, this should definitely make your trip worth it!

Damn you cantaloop, damn you! Why… gawd why, did you have to name that “salad” after me? That is messed up. I think I will have to be there personally to discuss this issue.

I was feeling under the weather, and soft food sounded fabulous, so graph and I stopped by today. The loopy fruit salad did look tasty, but I didn’t try it. I had vanilla with bananas, peanut butter cups and chocolate chips (boy did that hit the spot!). Graph had mango with lychee, cantaloop and…I forget the last topping….mango?
Anyhow, it was yet another tasty trip to Cantaloop!

I was there earlier today. Sorry I missed you. I’m glad you had a good experience. When I’m not there, I have no idea what the employees do

What a clever way to market. Reading this thread has given me the urge to drive over there.
Look out for an asian dude with his girlfriend. If I can ever convince my girlfriend to sway from PinkBerry and try something new.

No kidding shooby, now I’m craving a Cantaloop concoction !
There is one is Hollywood, but every time I try and stop in, some hot call comes out (or the line is out the door). Same goes for Pink’s hot dogs. You know, I’ve lived here for 12 years and I’ve never had a Pink’s. You have no idea how many times I’ve driven by and cursed the snaking line….on weekends it goes around the building until 3:00 a.m. !
I’m making it a promise to myself to get into the HWD Cantaloop this week !
I have a funny story about this Cantaloop too….I handled a “found gun” (!) call there about 6 months ago. Seems someone went in and used the employee john and left their revolver on the toilet tank. No kidding.
Cantaloop….do you know the HWD owners ?

I (finally) went last week. Had a half blueberry and half original with raspberries and blackberries (trying to delude myself that it was healthy). It was really good!

Your employees were not aware of the IHB discount, but gave it to us anyway. I think knowing your real first name helped.

You got the whole IR2 family in there today, too. I, of course, had the tart flavored loop with lychees, mangoes and raspberries again. (Still waiting to see my AKA on your special order board, by the way.) Mrs. Deuce had the blueberries, raspberries, and gummy bears on the vanilla. And IR2,Jr had a kid’s loop.
Solid work, cantaloop. Wishing you all the best.

Is that the secret code? Knowing his real first name? I can’t just say…“But Cantaloop referred us here for a $1 discount!“
So is Canta the first name?

I have heard the same thing about Pinks. I have lived here most of my life, and I have never been there because 1. the line is always too long and I don’t have the patience, and 2. everyone always says “dude, it’s not worth the wait, Dodger dogs are better.“
I have been meaning to try Portillos since they have opened, and I have heard only good things about them.
Hopefully I never find a revolver in the Cantaloop bathroom here. But, it is in Santa Ana, so it is not impossible. I will give you a call Troop if I do.

Yes, I know the owners. How funny. I’ll ask them about the ‘gun’ situation. Guns and Yogurt.. What a match!

Or you can just print out the coupons from this page
Next time you’re in the store, hopefully we’ll meet. I’ll let the staff know to give our friends at IHB the special $1 off.
