Here’s a video from LawyerLiz’ neck of the woods. The best part of the news story is the reactions from outraged home buyers:
FLORIDA HOUSING CRASH 50% OFF
I’m having the same problem as Will Ferrel with his mean 2-year old alcoholic landlord :

PeterUK - that is astounding. If I had ever said anything like what is said in that video, I would spend my life trying to remove all traces of those statements. I certainly wouldn’t publish any attempts at justifying housing prices at 8 to 8 1/2 times income.
WINEX, yes, amazing isn’t it? And that Video was made post June 07….As I was watching it I was wondering how, if it was true what he was saying, could my House in West Sussex (England) could have lost about UKP 40,000 during 2007…
The highest mortgage interest rate I have ever paid was 24% in S. Africa when I was working for BMW, incredible when I look back.
I’ve never been to the UK, but if I am not mistaken, isn’t the population aging and declining? Also, the argument of ease of movement across national borders because of the creation of the EU seems to ignore the fact that people can move FROM the UK to other EU countries.
WINEX, yes, that’s true, for instance, If I went back to Europe and wanted to live and work in say, Germany, Belgium, France or another EU Country I can do so, all I need is a British Passport for identification purposes. However, I think that Bloke was talking about (illegal) Immigrants from what used to be Eastern Bloc Countries such as Kosovo and other places that I can’t spell.
It sounds silly, but it’s only during mid 07 that someone realized that they were coming into the UK on Buses…
"They come in Buses"?
"I didn’t know that"!!
"So how many"?
"I dunno, we haven’t been checking People coming into the UK on Buses"
So there is a huge new population in the UK of whoever they are.
PeterUK - Midge Ure isn’t a name you hear that often thanks for the post. I still occasionally listen to Ultravox a great band. Unfortunately most of the good UK bands don’t always get over to the US. However Human League was here late 2006 (just missed them by a few months!) and are supposedly coming back in 2008…can’t wait! Still have fond memories of Duran Duran Feb 2005 in San Diego - great concert with the original 5.
