This is a request for information, from anyone who currently reside in, or have lived in the city of Lake Forest.

I’m looking for information on neighborhood, housing, prices, taxes, traffic, demographics, shopping, HOA, etc.  Basically anything of interest from living in the city.

It looks like the city is divided into 2 mater HOA’s?

I lived in Lake Forest on Lake Forest between Trabuco and Portola from 1999 to 2002. I rented a 2 bedroom/2 bath in a decent complex. The commute to the 5 took about 10-15 minutes back then. Not sure if it’s better or worse now. I will tell you that I had my car broken into twice, neither time did they get anything of any value, but the 2nd time they smashed out my window to steal my dry cleaning bag. I’ve never had my car broken into any other place I’ve lived in Orange County, but it seemed to be a pretty regular occurance for people in Lake Forest. I also lived in a "gated" apartment community, for what it’s worth.
