Ok, thanks!  Are you serious about South Coast Plaza? I often say that to my wife. No matter which malls we go to. I think South Coast is the better of them all.

For high end name brand, you may find more selections in Paris, but in terms of exterior, South Coast is better (not to mention cleanness)

I seriously think my wife is going to Paris just to get a certain purse. I told her they sell them here. She says it’s not the same. Hahaha.

I know how you feel, My wife got a bag from Paris that was supposely French only, and all the girls in South Coast went crazy when they saw it.  I honestly can’t tell, but evidently girls can

Reason,
South Coast does have a good selection (store variety) and is clean. But the shopping experience is very much "American" shopping experience. Rue St Honore is a pretty tony place and the shopping experience is different there.  I would never stop into the Hermes store at South Coast but I shopped at the one on Rue St Honore and it was different. I think to compare South Coast Plaza and Rue St Honore is like comparing  a MBZ AMG and a Maseratti Quatroporte. It is just a matter of preference.
The Golden Triangle (close to Plaza Athenee) is another good shopping area if you are into Euro designers. Big names like Dior, Zegna are all there. But nothing special there really.

To the person that whispered to me regarding my questions as stupid. I would love to whisper back but the system is not allowing me.

I will keep your name out of the public discussion. But here is my response.
My question regarding Spring time in Paris was a serious question. If you travel you will know that Spring time in another country does not always correspond with Southern California. To make this clearer. While its winter in Southern Cali. In South America, their winter is actually summer.
As to my question regarding mode of transportation. That was also a serious question. And one of the poster gave me a good advice and that is to take the subway. Cause I honestly thought of taking the taxis.
Again, I apologize to you if you see my questions as stupid.

You can free yourself of the frustration of reading my stupid questions. As there are many other discussions to enjoy yourself with.

reason - As regards the employment numbers, I would have been wrong.  I would have said, "I don’t have a clue", but inside I would have been thinking that the numbers would be bad.
It turns out the numbers are ok, and although I know the emp figures affect the markets greatly, I have little to no faith in their accuracy.  I think the birth/death model is a load of hooey.

reason - Read how they obtained those numbers as losses.  They have marked their present ABS in question to "fair value".  They have not marked them to market.  Plus, they say nothing of their off balance sheet paper.

I think the service level is considerably higher at South Coast Plaza than shopping on Plaza Athenee.  Also depends on the color of your skin it seems.  You always get better treatment in high end shops if you’re asian as opposed to white or if you have an asian girl with you.  I have a friend who is very rich but white and not attractive (she is a lawyer who lives in an apartment overlooking central park).  If she is shopping in Paris or Nice she absolutely will not get attention or will be told explicitly you can’t afford to shop here.  She tried checking into a hotel where she had a reservation and was told she could not afford it…after 3 hours they discovered that despite the fact she was in booty shorts, tennis shoes, and a trashy top showing a lot of cleavage she had a Centurion card.  If you’re asian you’re rarely treated that badly since many high end stores know Japanese and Chinese tourists may be younger and may be forced to use a different entrance but they do buy stuff.  White Americans have a reputation for buying tacky souvenirs and just browsing in high end stores.  If you expect rudeness and dress up more to shop hopefully you should enjoy Parisian shopping.

I did a study abroad program in Paris through Orange Coast College.  Several Asians who were in the program claimed that Paris was one of the most racist cities they’ve been to.
