Nice… That was quick.  So I take it NSR you’re a FFL-01 holder?

On another side note… trooper what type of cose in combat training do you guys get?  I’m thinking of starting a nice little airsoft indoor training center (mainly for the airsoft dweebs as well as the international pistol shooter assocation’s - in air soft of course.)  Do you think there would be any market for something like this?  Do other agencies actually receive training for such a thing?

Biscuit,
I’m not familiar with what airsoft is.  Do you have a link ?
Regarding combat training…do you mean shooting or self defense ?

Airsoft are the air powered pistols, they shoot these .2g bb’s at about 200-300ft per second.  While not exactly lethal or even threatening, they are great simulants for people who enjoy shooting.
Just look up airsoft pistols or www.extremeairsoft.com good luck

bix,
We don’t use airsoft as far as I know.  We train on something called a F.A.T.S. simulator, the weapons are real Beretta 9MM attached to C.O.2 cannisters so they actually "fire" and it feels lifelike (ie: the slide cycles and the computer program can even be programmed for the weapon to go to slide lock…to see how quickly you realize you have a malfunction, and clear it).  Basically, you stand in front of an 8ft x 8ft screen where lifesize figures appear acting out a shooting scenario.  You are graded whether you take the appropriate action.  The person running the scene listens to your voice commands and adapts the program to follow what you are "telling" the subject on the screen to do (ie: "Drop the gun", or "show me your hands", etc.)     It’s fairly lifelike and well received by officers.
So, I have no idea whether an airsoft range would be a hit or not.  The idea of no lead exposure is a plus though….
