“Losing NY-23 candidate Doug Hoffman became the latest in an increasingly long line of conservative politicians to blame his problems on ACORN yesterday despite the complete lack of evidence the organization played any role in his defeat.

The Republican base is with him though. PPP’s newest national survey finds that a 52% majority of GOP voters nationally think that ACORN stole the Presidential election for Barack Obama last year, with only 27% granting that he won it legitimately. Clearly the ACORN card really is an effective one to play with the voters who will decide whether Hoffman gets to be the Republican nominee in a possible repeat bid in 2010.”

http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2009/11/acorn.html

“In order to believe that Obama wasn’t the true winner of the 2008 election, one would have to think that ACORN (and perhaps other groups) stuffed ballots to the tune of over 9.5 million votes, Obama’s national margin.”

ACORN lawsuit raises question: Can it survive?

NEW YORK – ACORN has been cut off by banks, the government and most of its private foundation funders, severely hampering its housing operations and raising the possibility that it will not survive in its current form, according to a lawsuit the group filed Thursday against the U.S. government.

The lawsuit claims that Congress’ decision to drop all funding to the group and its affiliates was unconstitutional because it punitively targeted an individual organization.

In affidavits accompanying the lawsuit, ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis and other employees paint a bleak picture of an organization damaged by a string of scandals and the loss of federal funds.

ACORN, or the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, portrays itself as an advocate for tens of thousands of low-income and minority homebuyers and community residents who are served by offices around the country. Republicans describe it as a pro-Democratic group that violated the tax-exempt status of some of its affiliates by engaging in partisan political activities.

The law that halted ACORN’s federal funding took effect Oct. 1 and was extended at the end of the month. On Dec. 18, it will either expire or be extended again.

The founders envisioned a federal government constitutionally limited to defending our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. For that to happen, we must have at least one political party that strongly advocates limiting the power of government. For much of the 19th century, that party was the Democrats. For the early part of the 20th century and from the early 1960s through 1988, that party was the Republicans.

<insert bumpersticker here about hope, change, death panels>

As for the GOP, it has outwardly abandoned the limited-government principles of Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan. Little other evidence is needed than the Medicare prescription drug benefit—with its $13-trillion unfunded liability—passed with a strong-arm campaign by the Bush White House and a Republican congressional majority.

For all of Obama’s problems, duplicity isn’t one of them. Okay, I’m taking stuff out of context, but think about it…Goldwater would *@Y& if he saw the GOP today.

Having lived in both states, I can see a lot of truth in this article. The excerpt below laid the blame on the public sector and the spend-spend-spend legislature:

In what respects, then, does California “excel”? California’s state and local government employees were the best compensated in America, according to the Census Bureau data for 2006. And the latest posting on the website of the California Foundation for Fiscal Responsibility shows 9,223 former civil servants and educators receiving pensions worth more than $100,000 a year from California’s public retirement funds. The “dues” paid by taxpayers in order to belong to Club California purchase benefits that, increasingly, are enjoyed by the staff instead of the members.

None of this happens by accident. California’s interlocking directorate of government employee unions, issue activists, careerists and campaign contributors has become increasingly aggressive and adept at using rhetoric extolling public benefits for all to deliver targeted advantages to itself. As a result, the political reality of the high-benefit/high-tax model is that its public goods are, increasingly, neither public nor good. Instead, the beneficiaries are the providers of the public services, and certain favored or connected constituencies, rather than the general population.

Sort of… if going to the “James Albert School of Cosmetology” is your idea of a retraining.

What’s worse is the list is endless. I’m so glad that we are increasing the tax burden on the next few generations so that former realtors can learn to trim hair at their local Supercuts when James Albert and their ilk graduate their paying students without being able to offer them a job.

Pell Grants have been around forever, why are they now suddenly “stimulus” and what other regular government programs have been similarly commandeered for stimulus use. Or are these an entirely different kind of grant and what criteria are being used to award them? The recovery.gov website provide no information on this, despite “transparent reporting of Recovery-related funds as they are distributed and used” being the mission of the website.

If you are pro freedom watch this.

this is not pro-right or pro-left. it is pro freedom and pro liberty. dont judge by its title.

Fall Of The Republic documents how an offshore corporate cartel is bankrupting the US economy by design. Leaders are now declaring that world government has arrived and that the dollar will be replaced by a new global currency.

President Obama has brazenly violated Article 1 Section 9 of the US Constitution by seating himself at the head of United Nations’ Security Council, thus becoming the first US president to chair the world body.

A scientific dictatorship is in its final stages of completion, and laws protecting basic human rights are being abolished worldwide; an iron curtain of high-tech tyranny is now descending over the planet.

A worldwide regime controlled by an unelected corporate elite is implementing a planetary carbon tax system that will dominate all human activity and establish a system of neo-feudal slavery.

The image makers have carefully packaged Obama as the world’s savior; he is the Trojan Horse manufactured to pacify the people just long enough for the globalists to complete their master plan.

This film reveals the architecture of the New World Order and what the power elite have in store for humanity. More importantly it communicates how We The People can retake control of our government, turn the criminal tide and bring the tyrants to justice.
