Ummmm Yeah.
All I have to do is look at the “meet the consultant” page for the feng shui design master, and I just know she would be my go to girl for everything I could ever want to know about teeth whitening.
http://www.fengshuidesignconcepts.com/aboutus.shtml#consultant
I loved the Mission Statement and Vision Statement. Empowering people to find their shadow selves!
Pass the bong this way dewhd!
She sure does sell some righteous mumbo jumbo eh?
I wonder what she did before she became a feng shui master.
LOL!
The ghost of Christmas Foreclosure roaming the house leaving residue all over!
Thank God we have some old hippies armed with holy water to purge these fiends!
This would make a great plot for Ghostbusters 3 - the guys have to come out of retirement after a surge in the nation’s foreclosure rate threatens to overwhealm the world with evil spirits.
Residue! Residue!
Lake! Lake!
Well, this listing went pending on Tuesday, so maybe they got their 10% bump in price.
Let’s see what do we have here?
Ahhh another Irvine property where the 2011 market value is higher than the 2009 market value.
Yep, the recession sure did devastate Irvine. Whatever will we do with 2011 market values higher than 2008 market values? What if 2012 market values are the same as 2008… Gasp ... that will be horrific. People will be jumping off buildings and the Salvation Army will need to step in to help struggling Irvine if things get that bad.
I love this troll. PR’s like a one-man textbook on logical fallacies.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man
PR is waiting for interest rates to hit 2% so his children can afford this place.
PR, you really should share your story with the blog. I would love to hear all about the secret to your success in life.
We could start off with how old you were when you made your first million and when you boinked your first super model - the lead up to the climax of success when you paid all cash for a tract house in Irvine, California to retire and live the good life and blog about lower and lower interest rates every day for the rest of your life.
Dont’ jump the gun PR. Wait till this turd sells and we’ll see what the market value is. Asking price is just that, the seller’s wish price.
The listing is marked pending, so (assuming no shenanigans), they have a buyer and are probably in escrow as we speak (type?). Of course, the final purchase price won’t be known until the deal is finalized, but considering that it went pending after only ten days on the market, the price is most likely at list or above.
OK, I’ll be the first (maybe only) one to admit: I totally get why someone would do this spiritual house cleansing thing. Even though I don’t believe in “negative energy”, it would feel good, psychologically, to have some ritual marking of a new beginning. I’m female. Go ahead and blame it on that.
I don’t really believe this this “negative energy” stuff.
But I would support the Fed and Treasury spending a few million on a team of warlocks to purge and cleanse the finical system, rather the hundreds of billions of taxpayer funds they have diverted to wall street.
The ritual a few years ago was to buy that new place, fire up a HELOC and go shopping. No worries,no guilt.
I know this may be off topic and since the house is in San Clemente, out of regional significance, but you got to read this “realtors” house description, and you know how we love to dissect these. This guy is bringing an entirely new level of prose to the business. Felt like I needed a shower (or a cigarette) after reading. Too funny!

I would like to hear their “narrative” of writing the mortgage payment on this place.
You could do it on the patio after a refreshing shower.
Is it any more troublesome to believe in spiritual energy then to believe in an infinite growth real estate market?
Frankly, I think the market fantasies are more damaging then the idea of witches, smudging and negative energy.
Salem witches meet housing foreclosure. Biggest internet troll of 2011 award nominee?
They sell those ghastly St. Joe statues at the County Board of Realtors. It’s part of a business model for more than one Realtor I know.
Here’s a helpful take on superstitions like these:
http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/#meta-prediction
The Feng Shui practitioners do offer some reasonable design changes for some listings that aren’t well staged. They reposition tables, add plants, window treatments, and utilize other negative spirit re-directing tools. These changes do help in the sales of homes, although a good interior designer could perform the said same work at a fraction of the nonsense quotient (and cost) you get from a FS Wizard.

I think that magical thinking is a more common human coping mechanisn than we are usually aware of. I hang around with fishermaen, and ritual abounds, even among guys with Masters degrees in science. This got me to thinnking of some of the more powerful amulets and charms a home seller might try. Among the ideas, a clear title, a clear pest report, and the most powerful of magic, a market clearing price. If only someone could advise the sellers.

IR,
Apologies in advance for being totally OT but here’s a link to a bunch of Banksy’s street art including quite a few I had not seen before…
Thank you. I will use some of those.
