Open House Review: 100 Kempton

This one bedroom, ground level home boasts an extra den.  The front door is on a parallel row of homes, one row away from Kempton so visitors will not be able to park right outside the front door, however the location of the property is private and quiet, facing a wall which backs to Groveland.  Although the listing states 2 bedrooms, it is actually a one bedroom with a den.  Although the den could easily be converted to a bedroom, buyers should be aware that the only place to bathe is in the master bathroom.  The powder room does not have a place to shower/bathe.

The front door is found under the balcony of the neighbor, so it acts as a covered patio which has space for a couple of small chairs on each side of the front door.  Upon entry, you enter into a large rectangular room.  The flooring throughout the home is carpeted apart from the kitchen bathrooms.  The rectangular room consists of a dining area to the left and the living area to the right.  The six windows throughout the room bring in a lot of natural light.

Beyond the dining area is the kitchen with a peninsula separating the two areas.  It is an open layout with a sink and dishwasher in the peninsula.  The kitchen is basic with white cabinetry, stainless steel appliances and a granite countertop.  On the perpendicular wall, where the counter wraps around, is the gas range.  There are plenty of cabinets and the layout is open and light.  Next to the microwave is a double door coat closet which houses the stackable washer/dryer.

 

A hallway leads to a room on the right, which is the den.  It is a nice size den with high ceilings.  The window faces out towards the front of the home.  I have seen models that have enclosed the den for more privacy, or into a ‘second’ bedroom.

The half bathroom across the hall is a good sized bathroom with a single sink and toilet.  It is basic with white cabinetry and Caesar stone countertop, and is in excellent condition.

At the end of the hallway is the master bedroom.  There is an abundance of natural light flooding the room with two large windows facing the front of the house and two smaller windows on the perpendicular wall.  It is a good sized bedroom with a walk-in closet. The master bathroom is found beyond a preferable privacy door and has dual sinks with a small window sitting between the two sink mirrors.  Again, the bathroom is basic with white cabinetry, Caesar stone counter tops and white square tile tub surround.  It is in excellent condition.  I did not see any extra closet for linens/bath towels.

100 Kempton is desirable for anyone looking for a single story, one bedroom with extra den space.   It is in great condition and in a quiet, private location.
