Open House Review: 26 Lucero East

Today I am reviewing a desirable single level home in Northwood’s Park Paseo Community.  The home is a zero-lot-line property which is located nicely at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac street, just steps away from one of the community pools and tot lots. The home would be desirable for a family wanting to be on a street close to amenities as well as walking distance to the elementary and middle schools.  Santiago Hills, Sierra Vista Middle School and Northwood High School are designated for this neighborhood.

Condominiums in Stonegate sell for about the same price, but with this home buyers receive a yard, more privacy and a rare single level home.  The front door is located on the side of the house.  The entrance leads into the middle of a rectangular room which consists of the living room (to the right), small dining area (to the left) and a small open kitchen with a breakfast bar.  Straight ahead is a hallway leading back to the bedrooms.  The vaulted ceilings and large windows create an open, light feel. The laminate wood flooring flows throughout the home.  New windows and smooth ceilings are nice updates to the home.

The kitchen has been partially updated with new quartz countertops.  The original cabinets have been painted white with added hardware, however one drawer was completely missing.  There are plenty of cupboards, drawers and a pantry for storage.  One garage entrance is located in the kitchen.  The kitchen overlooks the dining area with a tall peninsula separating the areas and a small opening looks into the living room from the kitchen.

The dining room has a sliding glass door which leads to the side walkway, next to the front door.  The room fits a small table with space for a hutch or piece of furniture.

The living room has vaulted ceilings and fireplace with bricks that are painted white.  A sliding glass door opens up to the backyard.  One of the two entrances into the secondary bedroom is located off of the living room.  I have seen this model with the one entrance walled off to provide more privacy in the secondary bedroom.

Currently the secondary bedroom is used as an office.  It is a nice open room with the two entrances and could also be used as a playroom, extra entertainment room, guest room or library.

The other bedroom is similar in size.

The shared bathroom has painted original cabinets and it appears some newer 4×4 tiles were added to the tub/shower surround.  With a single sink and updated lighting, the bathroom is very clean.

The master bedroom has vaulted ceilings with a sliding glass door and additional windows above the slider, which bring in lots of natural light into the bedroom.  Two sets of mirrored closets are found, one on each side of entrance to the bedroom, creating a short hallway.  To the right, after the closet, is an opening to dual sinks.  Like the other bathroom, the original cabinets are painted white and the lighting is updated. There is no door in front of the sink area, so there may be some light and noise if a person is utilizing the area while another is in the bedroom.  Across from the sinks is the door to the separate toilet and shower.  There is no tub in the master bathroom.  The shower has 4×4 white tiles and looks a little dated. The sliding glass door leads out to a private patio, which sits behind a wall at the front of the home.  Another garage entrance is found in the patio.

The backyard is located just outside the living room sliding glass door and is nicely landscaped. The concrete area is nice for entertaining and fresh green grass surround the patio.  With the property sitting slightly lower than the neighbors backing to the home, the hill has nice simple bushes and looks inviting.

26 Lucero East is a nice home for anyone searching for a single story with a yard.  A big bonus is its location on a cul-de-sac.  It is walking distance to Santiago Hills Elementary School, Sierra Vista Middle School and with it being close to the other community amenities, makes this a desirable property.
