Open House Review 29 Milazzo

I am reviewing a home today in Northwood’s Vista Filare Community.  The home has been nicely upgraded and is walking distance to the middle school and Venta Spur Trail. The property backs to Sierra Vista’s track and field.  It is a zero-lot-line property but with the high ceilings, bright rooms, and upgrades, it did not occur to me that it was a zero-lot line.

This home has upgraded bamboo floors throughout the first floor, remodeled kitchen and partially upgraded bathrooms.  The backyard is a nice size and backs to the middle school’s track and field.  The windows are original and the back wood deck may need refinishing, but the home is move-in ready.

The front opens up to the living room with high ceilings.  Looking up, you can see the open walkway that leads across each of the second floor bedrooms.  Bamboo diagonally laid flooring flows seamlessly throughout the first floor.  The living room has 4 large windows, reaching up to the high ceilings which bring in an abundance of natural light.  The fireplace has painted white brick and the windows are decorated with wood shutters.

Beyond the living room is a dining area that opens up to the kitchen. The area can fit a small table.

The remodeled kitchen has a small island with some storage, black granite countertops, wood cabinetry and stainless steel appliances.  There is plenty of cabinetry for storage, but the kitchen lacks a true pantry. However, the kitchen has additional cabinetry and countertop space along the wall.  To the left is a pocket door with the laundry room, which has cabinets lined above the laundry machines and some open shelving to the left.

The backyard is found through the sliding glass door.  It is completely hardscaped with a raised wood deck in the corner.  You cannot view the middle school from the backyard unless you stood up on the bench.  There is plenty of space for entertaining, but the wood deck looks weathered.

At the opposite end of the home, beyond the living room, is the open den and powder room.  The open den is currently set up with a small desk. Another home I visited had enclosed the room to create a private office. The bathroom has granite countertops, wood cabinetry and updated lighting. The toilet and the mirror look dated, but the bathroom is in excellent condition.

The staircase is carpeted with a skylight up above. At the top of the staircase is the secondary bedroom, a linen cabinet and the open walkway that overlooks the living room.  The bedroom is large with high vaulted ceilings and an attached bathroom.  The bathroom is partially remodeled with granite countertops and newer cabinetry. The tub/shower with the 4×4 tile surround and window at the top of the tub wall look original.  The bathroom is in great condition.

At the other end of the walkway is the master bedroom with high ceilings furnished with a ceiling fan.  The large windows bring in light and overlooks the middle school’s field.  The room is a decent size.  The bathroom is found through an open doorway.  There is no privacy door so light and noise may be heard if someone is using the bathroom while someone is still sleeping in the bedroom.  The carpet from the bedroom runs all the way up to the double sinks.  The cabinetry has been updated and the countertops are the same granite that is found in the other bathrooms.  A linen cabinet is also found in the vanity area.  To the right is the separate toilet and large shower.  The shower has been completely remodeled with new shower surround and floors.  The only downfall is the original window which sits at the top of the shower.  On the opposite end of the vanity is a good sized walk-in closet.

29 Milazzo is a nice home with indoor laundry, good sized patio and spacious bedrooms.  Remodeled areas include the flooring, kitchen and partial bathrooms.  It is slated for Irvine schools and does not have any HOA fees.
